What is TREEPLAST®?

absolutely natural products thermoplastically workable

the original Skipstone

the Skipstone, a TREEPLAST® product

TREEPLAST® is a new material. It combines a two big advantages:

  • It has a natural appearance, touch and feel.
  • It has no shape restrictions.

Because TREEPLAST is made from wood it is a fully renewable material. It can be processed in traditional plastic-processing machines. New TREEPLAST products are currently being developed.

The standard version of TREEPLAST is absolutely natural renewable and biodegradable.TREEPLAST is made from wood chips (50%), with crushed corn and natural resins.

TREEPLAST does not contain plastic!

TREEPLAST comes in different versions; a fully biodegradable version, a water-resistant version and several others. New versions are being developed every day. Products of TREEPLAST are skin friendly and not electrostatic

TREEPLAST can be used in new products for different reasons:

  • The natural appearance, touch and feel combined with the freedom in shape
  • The bio-degradability and renewability
  • The high density, and many others...

The final product can be finished like wood and has comparable possibilities like MDF. The biggest advantage of TREEPLAST over other biopolymers is the natural appearance which is a good tool for communicating the (natural) properties of the material. The TREEPLAST-consortium (an international group of SME's and R&D institutes) is developing new TREEPLAST products.

The raw materials are extruded to make TREEPLAST granulatees, which can subsequently be processed in traditional plastic-processing machines. TREEPLAST thus presents a perfect alternative for plastics producers, who want to offer their customers natural, biodegradable products without investing in costly new machinery.
